Forever Now.
(An Introduction Finale)
Are you caught in a desolate present? In an endless loop without perspectives for change? Chewing?
Chewing and chewing and you have ENOUGH?!
Let´s then celebrate the No Future! In this way the present may change. Together with you, we dig up pasts, timelines, possibilities. we mix them up in order to reset notions of falsehood and truth, fiction and sciences, to draw new lines that may be circles or spirals, over and over again. We do this together, as in more chaos, more fun, because digging is too hard of a job to be done alone. Forever. Now Dig. During the events of Forever Now the space at Les Complices* will be used as a living room, cinema, kitchen and studio, where we invite you to eat, drink, watch, write, read, draw, glue and speculate. In three sessions we want to watch films from the past, to view them from different angles, as tools and starting points for dystopic fictions, sarcastic hopes and looping presents. Films that tell about queer communities, lesbian* childhoods, revolutions, deaths, sci-fi plants, magic spit and other constructive stories. From Semi-fictions, to pseudo-documentaries, to art films and music videos, we invent techniques and methods, dreams, scenarios, fantasies. We sketch the roles of "me" "you" "we", human, animals, plants, agency in self-created scenarios. With all the differences and dissonances, that the "we" holds. To escape the never changing future, which in this movie it is also the present and the past, "The Women’s Army" uses violence against the State, Media and television stations to write their own stories and break from the captivities of the past- because, they say, this is "our time". And “our time” is a time of a present that foresees No Future.

Programm for Session 1:
Zine Workshop, Filmscreening and Soup
Sunday 17.12.17, 14 - 18.30Uhr

14 Uhr, Zine Workshop: Paper Actions and Fictitous News
(With Paloma Ayala, Katja Lell, Nora de Baan, Les Complices*)
In this workshop we will watch excerpts of films that imagine dystopias, utopias, queer futures, communities, places and times beyond, but connected to now. The plot from the film Born in Flames (Lizzie Borden, 1983) and the project SATIRE TAXIS (Paloma Ayala, 2017) will be the starting points for the creation of DIY Zines that will show your proposals of how to retell the stories that you live in. By turning the films and storylines into material for a publication, we want to develop new plots, invent scenarios and subjects, roleplay, travel in time, transform into a plant, ruin, etc. All materials will be available on site.

18.30, Filmscreening Born in Flames with Soup
Born in Flames (Dir. Lizzie Borden, 1983, 90. Min. Eng., USA)
Born in Flames sketches a scenario in the future: the United States 10 years after a peaceful socialist revolution. But the future doesn't differ from the present. It isn't utopia or only for a very few people. Oppression, sexual, racial discrimination and hatred still happens to People of Color, less privileged and poor women. Different groups collect under the name "The Women's Army" and start to fight against oppression.
