I am full of love

ThickFatBlackBodyLove

I am full of love - ThickFatBlackBodyLove is an exhibition project by the Swiss artist and educator FupaMagic in collaboration with Les Complices*. Large image prints will be created especially for an exhibition accompanied by round table talks with experts focusing on Fat Black people, their relationship to their own bodies and how they deal with racist and fatphobic attributions.

Anti-Fat-bias and weight discrimination affect the lives of all people in different ways and make them unfree. I am full of love aims to contribute to more visibility for multi-discriminated people and create a space for self-empowerment, exchange and networking that is anti-racist, intersectional and pro-Black in particular. This also centers dimensions that white feminism seldom takes into consideration.

25.09.2021 Finissage I am full of love - ThickFatBlackBodyLove

I am full of love - ThickFatBlackBodyLove will host an online conversation that will be open to everybody. During this talk various perspectives on the impact of basic anti-Fat-bias within white and, in particular, German-speaking majority society will be discussed. A focus of the discussion of this talk will also address the correlation between anti-Fat-bias, fat hatred and anti-Black racism with its numerous intersections, as well as the range of "being acceptable-fat" and the associated forms of violence. We could acquire the two experts Christelle Nkwendja-Ngnoubamdjum and Aya-Charlotte Armah to join the panel.

FupaMagic (she) lightskinned black ciswoman, born in Lenzburg, grew up in the canton of Bern. She works in Bern, Zurich and Basel, is an educator and facilitator, transdisciplinary artist and musician. In addition to anti-racist-political and queer-feminist educational formats, she conceived, among other things, spaces with and exclusively for fat_fat, multi-weight and non-white people. By deconstructing heteronormativity, beuaty standards, racism and ableism, (through reclaiming fat-inclusive language, fat-body-acceptance and critical self-reflection on privileges), FupaMagic strives to create a meaningful piece of anti-racist resistance for fat-liberation in Europe. She has the privilege of working with impressive fat people who contribute their work and knowledge to I am full of love.

Christelle Nkwendja-Ngnoubamdjum (she) is a community activist and was active in the advisory board of Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland (Initiative by and for Black people in Germany) (ISD e.V. https://isdonline.de/) for several years, conceptualizes fat-liberations spaces in workshops and lectures and implements her work in an intersectional way.

Aya-Charlotte Armah (no pronouns/ she) is a thick/fat lightskinned Black queer person. She is a social worker with a focus on culture and media and holds a Master's degree in Performative Arts in Social Fields. Aya-Charlotte has been artistically exploring body-fat, body-acceptance, and related intersectional issues for several years. She shares some of her artistic works with her followers on Aya-Charlotte's Insta account @normaproforma. Aya-Charlotte has been active in the local group Frankfurt of the Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland (ISD) since 2020.
