Járnbrautarmálið / a railway case and Pictures On Pink Paper

Eva Rocco Kenell presents her work in progress Járnbrautarmálið / a railway case, where she adress questions around multiple layers of narration and normative storytelling. Island is one of the few countries in the world that does not have a railway. During the year 1984 - 1927 the topic was frequently discussed. Járnbrautarmálið became a topic on everyones lips. One day in Reykjavik, a grey and distopian housing area was dicovered by the artist, this was the starting point for a journey along the non-existent railway.

Pictures On Pink Paper is a film by Lis Rhodes from the cinenova collection that deals with how the oppression of women can be articulated without re-representing the language that defines power relations. Women are thinking and questioning this order. It is a critic of past experiences and ways of thinking. The film contains multiple layers and threads, both of possibilities and contradictions.
